TIBCO’s Enterprise Service Bus

An enterprise service bus (ESB) is a standards-based communication layer in a Service-oriented architecture (SOA) that enables services to be used across multiple communication protocols. It simplifies service deployment and management and promotes service reuse in a heterogeneous environment. To provide these capabilities, ESB's support both open standards and proprietary technologies, including Web services and UDDI-based registries to discover and publish services, Java Message Service (JMS) and other widely deployed messaging protocols, standards-based (XML) transformations and basic message routing.

TIBCO BusinessWorks™ provides all of the components of an ESB—Web services, XML, SOAP, XSLT-based transformations and UDDI support—and more. TIBCO offers independent platform-neutral support for heterogeneous IT and SOA environments, ensuring you are not tied to any one vendor's environment. TIBCO BusinessWorks™ leverages TIBCO's Information Bus™ architecture, delivering extreme performance, scalability, reliability and security. Only TIBCO has been helping thousands of customers achieve business agility for about 20 years.

Benefits of the TIBCO ESB Solution

  • Lowers the cost of connectivity in a heterogeneous environment, providing support for both leading open standards and the breadth of existing communications protocols, applications and technologies deployed today in IT.
  • Increases productivity in development and operations, replacing custom coding and manual administration with an integrated services environment (ISE) that provides a graphical, process-centric approach to service assembly, testing, deployment and management. This increased flexibility and productivity enhances responsiveness to changing business needs and shortens time to market developing and deploying new functionality.
  • Provides proven performance, scalability, reliability and security for demanding mission critical systems. Thousands of customers worldwide have built their service infrastructure on TIBCO. By using TIBCO BusinessWorks™, customers have been able to support thousands of messages per second and achieve 99.999% uptime.
  • TIBCO SmartPGM™ and TIBCO SmartPGM FX™

Key Features

  • Built on open standards with mature enterprise-grade quality ESB components, including Web services, XML, SOAP, XSLT-based transformations and UDDI support for discovering and publishing services.
  • Multi-protocol support for event-driven services using Web services, leading messaging technologies—such as Java Message Service (JMS), TIBCO Rendezvous®, and IBM MQ—as well as support for XML-based transforms and intelligent routing across these different technologies.
  • Support for leading third-party J2EE application servers and Microsoft .NET enables organizations to support a truly heterogeneous SOA.
  • Over 150 Adapters support a wide range of packaged applications and software infrastructure to connect existing systems via a common backbone and expose existing functionality as reusable services.
  • Centralized XML repository for metadata management simplifies development and operations. IT can track all assets and dependencies, conduct impact analysis and deploy services without taking services offline.
  • Integrated service orchestration engine for assembling services, automating business processes and performing content-based routing replaces custom development. Allows developers to combine services and reuse and reassemble them in different ways to support changing business processes and new business requirements.
  • Graphical integrated services environment increases productivity of developers and administrators. With TIBCO BusinessWorks™ developers adopt model-driven creation, assembly and testing, which promotes greater service reuse and enables faster delivery of new services. Administrators are able to perform distributed deployment, monitoring and management through centralized browser-based administration tools, reducing the ongoing cost of operations.
